The Mansfield Volunteer Fire Department continued it’s annual tradition of delivering toys to local children on Saturday, December 15. This is the third year Chief Stephen Haysmer and his crew have sponsored Fireman’s Christmas Carry.Mansfield-volunteer-fire-Christmas-Carry
The Mansfield Dollar General Store and Mansfield City Hall collected the donated items. Volunteers wrapped the gifts and loaded up the fire truck. Deliveries were made to nine children in total. Parents and children alike were touched by the love and generosity brought by the department.

Haysmer said this is something he hopes to continue next year and that it continues to grow. “We need the community to help us reach these kids and families. We appreciate everyone who helped and the Dollar General Store for collecting the toys.”

The joy of the faces of those children as they reached for their bag of toys was the true payoff. “It really changes your outlook,” said department member Albert Haysmer.
