National Library Week at the Scott-Sebastian Regional Library

The Friends of the Sebastian County Library is hosting events throughout National Library week.

Participating branches include Hartford, Mansfield, Greenwood, and Lavaca. Each will host activities throughout the week. Light refreshments and door prizes will be offered at every event.

On Monday, April 8 from 6-7:30 p.m., the Greenwood SWAT Truck, Greenwood Police Department, Greenwood Fire Department, Sebastian County EMS and the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Department will be on hand for Touch a Truck Family Story Night. Community leaders will be reading stories and there will be snow cones and face painting.

There will be two events on Tuesday, April 9. From 5-7 p.m. it’s after hours at the Library in Greenwood. There will be music by harpist Darice Auguston, a meet and greet with Library Director Rene Myers and an art activity with Martha Efurd.

Also on Tuesday, April 9 from 1-5 p.m., Lavaca will host an open house. Drop by the Lavaca branch for games, refreshments, door prizes, and more.

On Wednesday, April 10 from 3:30-5 p.m. it’s tween/teen time at the Greenwood Library. There will be bingo for prizes from 4-4:30p.m., a STEM activity, games, food, and door prizes.

Thursday, April 11 from 9:30-11:30 a.m., there will be an adult brunch and Bingo for Books in Greenwood. Author Nancy Powell will have a book signing and speak during that time.  There will be door prizes and much more.

The Mansfield and Hartford branches will host open house on Thursday, on April 11 from 1-4 p.m. Historian Jack James will be at the Mansfield location. There will also be refreshments and door prizes.

On Friday, April 12 from 10-10:30 a.m. the Greenwood Library will conclude the week with a story time for kids from birth-preschool. There will be goody bags, door prizes and more.

E-resources.
