Waldron Nursing Center News


Waldron Nursing Center residents and staff join in to celebrate National Nursing Assistant week- June 13-19 with different activities for the CNA’s to show appreciation for all they do for our residents.

Being recognized are Arron Allen, Jessie Ammons, Mara Ashmore, Amber Atchley, Jolene Beaty, Megan Bottoms, Alex Carter, Ashley Custer, Courtney Davidson, Regina Evans, Emily Haga, Pamela Harvey, Juan Hernandez, Stephanie Himes, Megan Hubbard, Shauna Hudgens, Shawnee Justice, Eric Parkhurst, Sara Pleitner, Donna Read, Dixie Rodriquez, Mary Sherman, Zerek Stewart, Billie Strozier, Kelley Taylor, Bonnie Thompson, Karley Thompson, Heather Vongphakdy, Aleeda Wells, Racheal Weeks, Autumn Wilson & Kelli Zimmer. So, when you see these nurse aids please be sure to “thank” them for all the great care they do for our residents.

Residents are still talking about how much they enjoyed the bluegrass singing and playing, In the Common Thread group was Harley and Cindy Vinsant and Mallory Jordan from Greenwood, Jerry Walker and Vickie from Central City, Fred and Janiece Webb of Dayton, and Trudy Humphries of Amity. Other guests in the group were Alice Miller of Greenwood, Harold and Marie Walker of Talaquah, OK, Harold & Joyce Bolton of Greenwood.

Other events this week included singing with the Winfield Baptist group, Reminiscence, Diane Miller, round table with Alex, batter ball, nail painting, Red Hat with Pizza and home made ice cream, and bingo on Wednesday and Friday afternoon. We also had a father’s day party to honor all of our fathers and guys. “Fathers” received a certificate declaring them great fathers while the “guys” with no children got certificates declaring them great guys.

We were also so glad to see Doyle Wayne back.

In closing we have much sympathy for the families of Judy Cheesman, Johna Rich and Billy McClendon. Our thoughts and prayers will be with these families in the many sad days ahead. To my granddaughters, Cindel Young and Brandy Roseberry for the loss of their grandfather, Dutch.
