(Left) Ashley Custor was elected as employee of the month by popular vote. (Right) Queen Madge Hunt gets three in a row during the “cookie toss” game.

It is hard to believe that Spring time is already here and the
flowers and trees are so pretty that are in full bloom. The residents have been
watching the weather and the showers that we have been having along with
keeping busy with the daily scheduled events. The Dietary has rearranged some
of the tables in the Resident dining room and put on some very pretty table
cloths. The Maintenance guys have waxed the floor in there and it really looks
nice. We are hoping that everyone will help us keep it looking great by not
moving the tables as they often make big scratches when being scooted. Alex has
also been having some of the smaller activities in the smaller dining area and
this has been working out well. When we have large groups the guys will be
asked to move the table for us by picking them up to be moved instead of
scooting them across the floor which causes the big scratches.

Events that have been enjoyed was Reminiscence on Monday morning,
Bingo on Monday, Wednesday & Friday afternoon with Volunteer Doyle Wayne
helping out with calling the numbers for the games. Sunday evening singing with
Packsaddle Singers, Monday evening Singing with Temple Baptist Group, we are so
appreciative of these two groups being willing to hold their services in the
Day Room while the waxing of the dining room was being completed. Tuesday night
services with Ken Overturf, Round Table, Worship service with Pat Ray Biggs,
Birthday party for those celebrating a birthday in May, Clayton Burrows, Marie
Hudson and Theodore Miller. Morning crafts on Friday with Volunteer Pat Morales
helping out. Cookie Toss and Fun with Regina in the Day Room on Saturday
afternoon. Our Special Wednesday morning activity of “Frisbee”  was a big
hit. Thanks to Elaine for bringing us another new game for the residents to
enjoy.

Other “Thanks” goes out to the lady who brought us a lot
of Jig Saw puzzles for our Puzzler folks along with paper back books and other
items. Congratulations goes to Ashley Custor, Nurse Aide, for being elected
“employee of the month”.

We are in need of some Wrestling Magazines for a new resident if
anyone has some they are finished with, just drop them off at the Business office
or leave them by my office door at the Activity Dept. and I will get them to
the resident.

In closing our deepest sympathy goes out to the family of Herman
Junior Speaks, Junior as he was called by many will be so greatly missed as so
many of our residents enjoyed visiting with him throughout the day. Our thought
will be with his family over the many sad days ahead.
