Janis Hull (pictured above), was just one of many who participated in the “Bonnet & Scarves” photo pose-up and wearing a pretty big smile.

Waldron Nursing Center Resident continue to enjoy the good weather days sitting in the patio area to visit or eat their lunch. At any given time three or four of the residents can be seen enjoying each others company in the area. Janis Hull, Dorothy Shepard, Gertrude Shelton and Jimmy Mize who is often enjoying the area in front by the swings and rocking chairs.

Activities enjoyed this week was Sunday activities with Chris Davis, wife of Paul Davis. The residents have been enjoying playing dominoes or other games that we have available. Reminiscence with Diane Miller, Bingo on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoon with our great Volunteers helping Alex out with the games. Monday night singing with the Temple Baptist Group, Tuesday night services with Mike Shaddon, nail painting, round table, Ball practice, Red Hat “Busy Bee” meeting, morning crafts with Volunteer Pat Morales coming to help out. Puzzle time, Resident Choice activities, Day room Sundaes with Regina Evans, we really appreciate Regina helping out with the Saturday activities. Art work & other craft projects. Our Special Wednesday afternoon activity of “Bonnets & Scarves” was lots of fun as each one chose a bonnet and scarf to do their photo pose-up in. From the looks of the photos there was also a lot of laughter going on during the photo session. I really appreciate my Assistant, Alex Carter,  getting this activity together and carried out while I was away for the monthly Activity meeting in Alma. Alex is also a great photo taker. These smiling faces will be on the photo wall that is located near the Business Office for everyone to take a peek at.

“Thanks” goes out to those that brought the good paper back books along with Clara Duncan for our many resident readers.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to the family of Reba Nell Bergmann. Reba is widely known for her piano playing and she has given us many years of service in past years. We will all miss her and our thoughts will be with her family in the many sad days ahead.

In closing we are once again in desperate need of stuffed animals for our bingo prizes. This is one of the residents favorite prizes so if anyone has them to spare please drop them off at the Activity Department and help bring some very big smiles to our resident faces when they see the overflowing cart.
