In their previous meeting, Waldron got away by the skin of its teeth with a 35 – 34 win over Pottsville. The rematch, however, was a total reversal. Waldron suffered a painful 42 – 21 defeat to Pottsville.
Waldron got first blood with a 24-yard receiving touchdown in its first drive, but Pottsville was able to respond with 27 first-half points. That put Waldron down 27 – 14 at halftime. Coming back from the break Waldron allowed 15 points to fall even further behind in the second half.
Waldron dropped down to .500 with a 3-3 record. Pottsville is now evened up at 3-3.
Waldron will look to defend its home turf against Booneville this Friday at 7:00 PM. This will be Waldron’s most challenging opponent yet.
