Update: Paris Drops Pair of Road Conference Games at Atkins

The Paris Eagles and Lady Eagles teams dropped a pair of important conference games last evening at Atkins. The Eagles lost to the Red Devils by a score of 59-43, and the Lady Eagles dropped an important game in their race to finish the season in third place by losing at Atkins by a score of 61-43.

Paris struggled on the defensive end in the loss to Atkins, and coach Dustin Williams was disappointed in the lack of intensity from a team that has played lights-out the past several weeks. “The game was closer than the score but we tried to foul late in the game. Our defensive intensity was not on the same level it has been and we didn’t do a good job of keeping Atkins off the offensive glass. We failed to get a lot of second chance points on our end, as well. We hung in there and fought. Just didn’t have the same energy level we have had.”

Jadyn Hart led Paris with 23 points, and Harlie Watts had 12 points. Jacee Hart had 5 points and Paiton Forbis and Karsyn Tencleve added 2 points and 1 point, respectively.

The Lady Eagles host Perryville Friday night at Paris Gymnasium in a conference game that now takes on even more importance in the conference standings. The Lady Eagles cannot afford to look ahead to next week when they have games with Booneville and third place Jessieville.

I expect both the Eagles and Lady Eagles to come out with great energy and intensity when they take the floor on Friday night for Winter Court night and their games with Perryville.
