The Mansfield Sr High Tigers are tearing through their non-conference competition so far this season. With a 2-0 start, the Tigers look to stay undefeated in non-conference play tomorrow night when they travel to Lavaca to face off against the Golden Arrows.

Mansfield started out the season with a very impressive showing during their scrimmage against 5A Dequeen. A heart attack 28-26 victory against 2A Hackett. And blow out 40-7 against 4A Waldron last week. The Tigers are not letting these victories get to their head though. They start each week with the mindset that they have a 0-0 record.

Mansfield Head Coach, Craig Bentley said this about his teams’ victorious start “Winning is always a good thing. Learning how to win, how to keep winning, and how to react to winning is the challenge. You either stay humble or you get humbled. Lavaca is well coached and they play hard. They have some depth on their team which can benefit them as the game progresses”.

2A Lavaca lost a close one to 4A Subiaco last week proving that they are no pushover when it comes to playing teams in a higher conference. Tomorrow nights game will be the Tigers last non-conference game before they get a bye week to prepare for the start of their conference schedule.

The Mansfield Tigers will kickoff against Lavaca Friday, September 7th at 7 pm in Lavaca.
