On August 9th, the Mansfield Tiger Sr High Football Team embarked on their annual trip to War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock. The Tigers began their day with a scrimmage and wrapped it up with lunch inside the stadium. The boys then headed to Fort Smith, where they were treated to some fun in the sun at Parrot Island.
Coach Bentley stated “We always have a lot of fun on this trip.We take the team to War Memorial Stadium for many reasons. One of them is that this is where the State Championship Game is held and we want our kids to understand that this is their ultimate goal.Getting the boys acclimated to the challenges that come with a long road trip for an away game is another reason we take them. It is not easy spending long hours on the bus and then having to mentally and physically be ready to play. Plus, it’s always a great way for the kids to get out of town and have some fun after working hard during pre-season practices.”
The Tigers open their football season on August 23rd against Hackett at 7:00pm in Hackett.
