The Lady Arrows Shut out Lamar for second time this year.

The Lavaca Lady Arrows shut out Lamar for the second time in three weeks. Both games were close defensive battles. On March 9th the Lady Arrows won by a score of 1-0 at the Clarksville tournament and last night Lavaca won a 2-0 game at Lamar. BethAnn May was credited with the victory for Lavaca. She surrendered no runs on four hits over seven innings, and struck out 11.

All of the scoring took place in the first inning of play. Brianna Winchester reached on the first pitch of the game. Sierra Lamb grounded out but moved the runner into scoring position. Jessica Flanagan singled to short stop and Winchester was held on second. Then Brooklyn O’Kelley doubled to left field scoring Winchester and moving Flanagan to third. Tessa Leonard singled up the gut scoring Flanagan.

Lavaca totaled nine hits in the game. Jessica Flanagan, BethAnn May, and Brooklyn O’Kelley all collected multiple hits for the Lady Arrows.

With an 8-2 non conference record the Lady Arrows will look to dominate conference play which will begin this week when the Lady Arrows travel to JC Westside on Thursday. The two teams have already faced each other in a non-conference match up to start the season. In that meeting the Lady Arrows rolled to a 13-2 blow out. The Lady Arrows will look to fire up their bats again Thursday. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30.
