The Hackett Hornet’s Nest: It’s All Abuzz

A committee in the town of Hackett recently formed with the goal of providing young people in the area with a safe, and fun environment to visit after school and during the summer.

According to volunteer Kim Henry, they recently received their LLC and that they will be seeking their nonprofit status. “The Hornets Nest will have a committee meeting next Tuesday to start the ball rolling and set a time to meet with the Methodist church to sign lease agreement. Being insured was our biggest concern and we can now do this with the LLC,” added Henry. The Methodist Church has a new preacher and our board had a few changes and we will discuss all of that on the ninth.”

The building located on Williams Street in Hackett, formerly housed the Hackett museum.  The Committee for the Hornets Nest Recreational Room hosted Movie in the Park on Saturday, June 29.
