The Mansfield Sr High Lady Tigers had a rough game last night against Greenland. The girls had a loss of 47-18 and sit 1-11 in conference play. Coach Joshua Bryan said this about the game, “We missed multiple opportunities for easy points under the basket and we didn’t shoot the perimeter well. We were in foul trouble early in the game, which stumped our momentum. We will put together a better game against West Fork on Friday.”
The Sr High Tigers started off the game hot and firing on all cylinders. The Greenland Pirates matched Mansfield point for point. “In the end,” says Coach Keith Dake, “fatigue slowly began to creep in during the latter half of the game.” Mansfield took a loss of 68-61. The (1-11) Tigers were plagued by missing players having the flu or coming back from having the flu and others battling through some injuries. Ethan Stovall led the team with 32 points followed by Codi Chick with 18. “Our guys will be back on the right track heading into the most crucial part of the season,” says Coach Dake.
The Mansfield Tigers will head to West Fork for their next game on Friday, February 1st with start time at 4 p.m.
