Saharan Sunset

By now most of you have probably heard of the Saharan dust that has been transported from Africa into our region. As of this morning, it is in full swing and leaving a distinct haze in the sky! The dust should linger through the day and could leave us with a gorgeous sunset later tonight. You should notice some vibrant colors as the dust mixes with the golden hour sunlight.

While most of us will be fine, be careful if you have any pre-existing medical issues (in regards to breathing). Most of the dust is suspended well above our heads in the upper-atmosphere. While 2020 has offered it’s own share of events, the Saharan Dust isn’t uncommon; as we have seen this before.

Be sure to send me any good sunset images you may capture on Facebook and Twitter!
