RV Food Bank Blesses Veterans with Bounty Box at Chaffee Crossing Parade

By Tammy Moore Teague

Everyone loves a parade, but today’s parade at Chaffee Crossing was quite special. The patriotic show was nothing short of amazing, with at least 14 floats, more than 70 vehicles and nearly 1,200 people in the parade!

Following the parade, was an awards ceremony honoring veterans of the Cold War. The presentation was truly emotional. Following the ceremony, the River Valley Food Bank blessed 250 veterans and their families with a 46-pound food box, which included a frozen turkey. Thank you to those who co-sponsored of this project, Yeagers Ace Hardware, the Western Arkansas Military Community Council and Rath Auto Resources.

One of the veterans who received one of the Bounty Boxes said “I started tearing up when they gave me that box. It is truly a blessing to me and my family.”

A special thanks to all who helped make this day special for our veterans!
