No Trophy Kill For Sr Tigers

The Mansfield Sr High Tigers took on the Elkins Elks where they met in last nights conference match-up on the Tigers territory. The Lady Elks stole the win from the Lady Tigers 55-44 and the Elks walked away victorious 67-37.

Makayla Strutton led her team in her third double-double of the season with 24 points. She secured 10 rebounds and 5 deflections. Mikayla Harrison had a great 10/10 free throwing night making 100 percent from the line and bringing in 12 points. Scoring the remaining 8 points were Rylea Weaver, Amber Elmore, Macy Davis, and Samantha Smith. Although the Lady Tigers sit 1-10 in their conference season, do not be fooled by those numbers. The Lady Tigers are a young team overflowing with ultra-talented sophomores and juniors. The girls are fine-tuning their skills this season and learning to get their feet under them. I pity their opponents come next season though because the girls will be an unstoppable combination.

The Mansfield Tigers suited up for what they knew would be a tough battle against the Elks of Elkins. As always, the Tigers started off going toe to toe with Elkins but the Elks were deadeyes from the perimeter and seemed to sink 3s at will. The Tigers kept the game exciting with steals and bursts of smooth offensive plays. Win, lose or draw the Sr Tigers are always fun to watch. After last nights loss, the Sr Tigers are 4-16 overall and 1-10 in conference.

Mansfield celebrated Senior Night as well. The Tigers had 8 seniors grace the court for their recognition.
