Mansfield Parent Involvement Committee (MPIC) – August 25, 2017
This school year will mark 4 years for MPIC!! I wanted to give an update on some of the things we have done over the past years!
For the past 3 years we have hosted our annual “Fall Festival”. We have carnival games, bounce houses, food and a silent auction. The games are put on by the teachers and staff from our schools!! All monies they collect go right back to them! This is also a major source of our revenue.
We have been able to purchase several microwaves for the High School cafeteria, walkie talkies for the Elementary and a portable greenhouse for the Middle school!
Every year around either Thanksgiving or Christmas we do a food drive. This has been a big success and helps local families during the holidays.
We also very much enjoyed bringing the community together for a volleyball tournament that we held at the High School. We had a lot of sore players the next day, but we have always had fun!
The “sweetest” thing we have done is had students make one of our teachers into a human sundae!
It’s not always about the big events; it’s about always being there for our kids, our community and helping when we can. Whether it’s taking a family groceries or insuring the kids have warm clothes we are here!
We are also looking for volunteers! We understand that you have families, jobs and of course sports. But, the more hands we have, the lighter the work load for everyone! We also welcome any donations and sponsors. If you are interested please call or text me at 479-849-7616 or visit us on the Mansfield Parent Involvement Committee Facebook page.
