The Mansfield Sr High Volleyball team has had quite an eventful season so far. Gearing up to go into the second half of the season, the girls are just getting started. The Lady Tigers will face the Booneville Lady Bearcats today and the Lincoln Lady Wolves on Thursday with both being away games.
The last time the girls went up against the Bearcats, it was during a neutral tournament where they ended up losing 2-0. Always full of determination, the Lady Tigers have no problem stepping up to compete against any team they are faced with and take every opportunity they are handed to bring home a win. Although both games this week are being played away from home, this holds no effect on the girls who always play with confidence and intensity no matter where they are.
Mansfield walked away victorious the last time they played Lincoln but they still go into every match with the mindset of never having competed against their opponent. On the court, anything can happen. One strength that the Lady Tigers can always count on as a team in encouragement. They make sure to encourage each other on and off the court. Sr High Volleyball Coach, Kaylie Pyles says, “This is an important aspect that any team needs in order to gain confidence in one another.”
When asked which teams the girls were looking forward to playing in this next half of the season, Coach Pyles said, “Paris and Charleston. We lost to both of these talented teams at home games. We are intensely determined as we face them again in away games.”
The Mansfield Sr High Volleyball team will be in Booneville today for their match against the Bearcats starting at 4 pm and on Thursday, September 20th, the Lady Tigers will head to Lincoln to take on the Lady Wolves at 4 pm.
