The Mansfield Tiger and Hackett Hornet Little League Football teams have made it to the WCFL Playoffs. Not only did they make it, but the teams also have 4 of the 8 Playoff slots available. Hackett is the #1 Seed in both 3rd and 4th Grade and 5th and 6th Grade. Mansfield’s 3rd and 4th Grade is the #2 seed while the Tigers 5th and 6th Grade holds the #4 seed.

The Hornets are undefeated 6-0 on both squads and will host both of their 1st round Playoff games. It’s rare for a team to go undefeated to start with, but Hackett pulled off a double dose this season. The Hornets 5th and 6th Grade will face off against the Mansfield Tigers Saturday for the third time this season while the Hackett 3rd and 4th Grade take on the Cedarville Pirates.

Hackett Little League Football President Dave Slavens said “We are very excited to have both our 3rd and 4th Grade and our 5th and 6th Grade teams make the WCFL Playoffs. These boys and girls have worked extremely hard to earn this opportunity. To finish the regular season undefeated and earn the #1 Playoff seed with home-field advantage is very rare. But this is a rare group of players. We’re very proud of each and every one of them.”

The Mansfield 3rd and 4th Grade finished their season 4-1-1 and hold the #2 seed in the Playoffs. The 3rd and 4th Grade squad lost a close game to Hackett and tied with JC Westside. The Tigers are looking to get some closure for their tie game against JC Westside from earlier in the season as they host the Rebels Saturday. The Tigers 5th and 6th Grade team finished 3-3 and earned the #4 seed in the Playoffs. Mansfield’s 5th and 6th Grade look to ride their current 2 game winning streak into the Playoffs on Saturday as they travel to Hackett to take on the Hornets again.

Mansfield Little League Football President Josh Strozier said “I think both of our squads have really moved forward since the beginning. They are wanting to win more and more and are showing it on the field each game. They are coming together more as a team rather than as individuals. Playing together as one team is what we need in Mansfield. We are going in the right direction to become a great program. We are sending good players up the line to good Coaches who teach discipline and an understanding of the game. These teams have come a long way from where they were. GO RED !!!”

Congratulations to the Tigers and Hornets Little League teams on making the WCFL Playoffs. With both of the towns High School teams currently in the Playoffs, Football looks to be taking a big step forward for the communities of Mansfield and Hackett.

All games will be played on Saturday, November 10th

3rd and 4th Grade – Cedarville at Hackett @ 5:00 pm
