It was Homecoming in Lavaca tonight, and what a night it was. The festivities started with a Pep-Rally in the Lavaca Gymnasium during school. The band played, the cheerleaders led, and the students cheered. Then the court was announced. Seniors: Abby Glidewell, Hope Headley, and Abrie Rainwater; Juniors: Mallory Brittain and Hannah Hutchins; Sophomores: Sydney Crabtree and Taylor Lile. The Ladies were were all dressed to the nines in there day dresses, and their escorts were looking dapper. Abby Glidewell was escorted by Tyler Armistead and Colton Green. Hope Headley was escorted by Mark Miller and Cayden Hearn. Abrie Rainwater was escorted by Jayger Wagner and Bradly Dooley. Mallory Brittain was escorted by Andrew and Arron White. Hannah Hutchins was escorted by Wyatt Kiene and Andrew Wright. Sydney Crabtree was escorted by Jordan Fenner and Tyler Hobbs. Taylor Lile was escorted by Matt Melton and Joshua Fenner. The attendants were Ava Green and Anniston Southerland and Breck Austin.
The crowning ceremony took place just prior to the varsity boys game against Mountainburg. The ladies of the court had replaced their day dresses for evening gowns and their basketball team escorts for a family member escort. The court was reintroduced and then the moment came to announce this years queen. Hope Headley was crowned as the 2019 Basketball Homecoming Queen, and the crowd went wild. Congratulations to Hope and her family!
