It has been brought to my attention that we at R22 News missed an important event this past week. I want to apologize to the Lavaca Junior High for not getting an article out about the Junior Arrows big win against Western Yell County on Thursday night, until now.  I do my best to report on as many of our towns sports teams as possible, but I did miss getting this article out in a timely manner.

“Lets Go Arrows!”

The Junior Arrows have had a rough season so far this year. They have played hard but just couldn’t put it all together and get into the winning column, until this week when they faced the Western Yell County Wolverines.
Thursday night the Arrows hit the field, and they were all business. The Junior Arrows completely dominated the evening. Mattocks Noel lead the team with two touchdown runs both being over 30 yards. Cazen Winters also added 2 Touchdowns. The first was on an 8 yard quarterback draw and the second was a 5 yard Touchdown pass to Triston Brown.

Defensively the Arrows were stellar all night. They forced 2 fumbles one ending a Wolverine drive just before halftime. The other, lead to a Lavaca touchdown after Malakai Mendez forced and recovered a fumble on the Wolverine’s 15 yard line.
