The Hackett Hornets SET the bar high in last nights 3-0 victory against the Ozark Hillbillies. This was the first game of the season for the 1-0 Lady Hornets who are off to a good start and the second loss for the Ozark Hillbillies, who are now 0-2 after getting served their first loss by the Charleston Tigers on the 14th.
Helping to assist with the win using their strong spiking skills, was senior Audrie Chaney and sophomore Rain Vaughn who each made 8 point scoring kills. Chaney also topped the leader boards with the most total blocks while Vaughn had some impressive digs. Landing 2 serving aces was senior Anaya Albert while sophomore Madi Taylor lead the pack with the most assists.
Coach Bridget Freeman had this to say about the first game of the season. “I was very impressed with our girls. I thought we had a lot of energy and hustle and many of the girls saw some playing time as we worked through the best rotation for success. Also, it was really nice to have such great fan support for our first home appearance.”
The Lady Hornets will serve up some tough competition on their home court in their next match against the Charleston Tigers on Tuesday, August 21st at 4pm.
