Lady Arrows advance to the 2A-4 District Championship Game tomorrow against Danville.

Tonight was the Semi Finals of the 2A-4 High School District tournament. The tournament is being held in Danville and both Lavaca teams had received a bye until the semis. For the Lady Arrows this was a rematch against the Hector Lady Wildcats. In their previous meeting, the Lady Arrows won soundly by a score of 49-31. Tonight would be not much different with the Lady Arrows winning 40-27. Tonight, Hope Headley lead the way with 11 points. Avery Green add another 9, and BethAnn May and Sierra Lamb combined for another 14, with 7 a piece.

Danville is the only team in District to beat the Lady Arrows. Then tonight they beat Mountainburg in the Semi-finals 57-51 to get to the finals. They are a very physical team and will be extra tough on their home court. However, sometimes it can be an advantage to face-off against a team that beat you in the previous meeting. Coach Wyles will no doubt embrace the opportunity to get some payback, and this will be a rematch that you will not want to miss.

Hope Headley for Threeeeee

Coach Wyles said, “I thought we played really well defensively tonight. We went through a little stretch that we struggled to score. I thought our defensive play is what we owe the win to tonight. It was good to get that first district tournament win out of the way and get to play for a district championship tomorrow night. I know the girls will be ready to go tomorrow night. Danville is a very good team but we look forward to to the chance to get them again.”
