Lavaca’s 7th grade and Junior high Arrows, strapped it up and headed to Mountainburg last night, September 27th 2018. The 7th grade Arrows played a hard fought game and came out with the win. 12-6. Arrows score first on the first drive of the game. Then again in the 4th quarter to put the game away. Coach Schlinker commented, “Very proud of our 7th grade. Mountainburg only had 7 seventh graders so we were playing against a lot of 8th graders. Thought we executed well on both sides of the ball. Anthony Painter and John Barwick played great. Offensively, Castor, Barron, and Rodriguez came up big.”

The Junior High team didn’t fare as well, taking a 22-0 loss. Junior Arrows had moments where they looked to gain some momentum, but just could not quite put it all together. I caught up with Coach Franklin and he had this to say about the game, “We played hard. Had a few to many mental errors, we have to keep working and we will get over the hump.” Junior Arrows were, obviously disappointed in the game. No doubt they will be working to make improvements this week, and come out looking to right the ship against Western Yell County at home next Thursday, October 4th.
Come out and support these two programs.
