Jr Rattlers Race Hard In Bearcat Relays

On Thursday, March 5th, the Magazine Jr Rattlers and Lady Rattlers made the hop skip and a jump to Booneville to compete in the Bearcat Relays. Hitting the pavement against 10 other teams, Magazine held strong and fought hard till the end never letting their heads down. Head snake leader, Ryan Chambers, saw great potential in both of his teams for their first meet of the year and can’t wait to unleash them on the rest of the track season.

The Jr Rattlers earned fourth place in the 4×800 with a time of 10:29, 10th place in the 4×100 with a time of 57.40 and rounded out with 11 points as a team. Sam Warner earned a fifth-place win in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:34.12 along with ninth in long jump at 16-03 and 18th in the 200-meter dash. Trace Nicholas made seventh in discus with a throw of 104-00 and 14th in shot put. Brody Case placed 11th in the 100-meter hurdles and 13th in the 300 hurdles with a time of 57.63. Aiden Carter made 13th in the 400-meter dash. James Haugh placed 15th in discus and 20th in shot put. AJ Malouf earned 16th in triple jump with a marker at 27-06. Kolton McCubbin made 16th in long jump. Allen Newby took home 18th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.39. Jacob Thompson placed 20th and 21st in the 100-meter and 400-meter dash. And Dosson Littleton picked up 20th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.93.

There was only a handful of Jr Lady Rattlers that competed Thursday night and although they were small in numbers they were big in their presence. Emily Powell placed ninth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 20.83 and 10th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:17. Trinity Bull took home 10th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 33.16 as well as 12th in the 100-meter hurdles, 17th in the 100-meter dash and 11th in long jump with a marker at 12-06. Gracee Franklin placed 14th in the 200-meter dash, 16th in long jump, and 19th in the 100-meter dash. And Jaylen Sims earned 12th in shot put with a distance of 23-06 and 15th in discus. The Jr High tracksters will next go for gold on April 2nd in the Mansfield Jr Tiger Relays.
