Hornets STING the Indians

The Hackett Hornets have proven their town supports them with great tradition, and pride, but the team itself play  with goals, and passion under their coaching staff.

Last Friday night, the Pocola Indians rolled into town with an opportunity to swat the Hornets. That didn’t happen. In fact, it wasn’t even close.

The strength in unity of the Hackett Hornets started in the 1st Quarter, and never let up. A “powerhouse” mentality sent the Indians packing with a final score of 40-0, giving Hackett the victory and strong momentum.

Head Coach, Lonnie Hester rushes towards Matthew Carter with enthusiasm.

“We came out a little slow in our first Defensive series (bent but didn’t break). But after that, we played like we know we are capable of playing. We played well as a team, and hope that gives us momentum going into this week’s tough conference game against Mountainburg on their field.”Hackett Head Coach, Lonnie Hester

Offensive Stats:
Cooper Shipman 103yds on 13 carries (1-TD)
Malachi Crone 96 yds on 3 catches 1TD
Pacey Mcbride 84 yds on 4 catches (2 TD’s)
Brady Hester 10/12 for 248 passing 3 TD’s ….46 on 7 rushing 2 TD’s
We would like to wish the Hackett Hornets, Coaches, Cheer Squads, Band, and families, a safe and successful season. GO HORNETS!
