Hackett Volleyball Determined to Continue Winning Streak

By Megan Hecox

Hackett Hornet Volleyball Coach, Bridget Freeman, has been teaching her love of the sport for nine years. Four of those years have been spent coaching the Jr High volleyball team and three years spent coaching the Sr High team. As an outsider looking in, you can tell how much she truly cares for her girls and the love that they have for her.

The Lady Hornets must have found the winning combination because they are 6-0 in conference play. Going into the second half of the season undefeated, the girls are really coasting right along. Both Sr High and Jr High teams had a tough schedule last week with matches against Booneville, Farmington, and Mulberry. But the Jr High team came out with three straight wins while the Sr High team lost to Farmington but scored the victory against Booneville and Mulberry. Along with playing three matches last week, they were also able to find time to schedule a Teacher Appreciation. The Lady Hornets called all staff to the floor and gave them each a signed volleyball and candy. In addition to that, each girl picked a teacher and wrote them a letter of appreciation.

First up on the schedule to kick off the week, Hackett will hold a home match today at 4 pm against Waldron. Then on Tuesday, September 18th at 4:30 pm, the Lady Hornets will host Northwest Arkansas Classical Academy. Closing out the week, Hackett will travel to Eureka Springs on Thursday, September 20th to face off against the Lady Highlanders at 4 pm.
