After last weeks bye week, the Hackett Hornets are healed up and ready to get back on the field. They will get to stay home this Friday night as the Hector Wildcats will be stepping into the Hornets’ nest. The two teams scrimmaged each other in pre-season and Hackett Coach, Lonnie Hester is feeling good about the match-up.
Right now, Hector is 4-2 overall and Hackett is 2-3 overall. Coach Hester said, “We have lost to 3 quality teams so we don’t like those results but we’ve played a tough schedule. My motto on winning is this. We play to win. Yes, football is just a game but it teaches life lessons. If you lose a game, use it as motivation and learn from it. If we are not winning, we have to go back and evaluate why. We usually know where we need improvement.”
If you have ever had the opportunity to watch the Sr High Hornets play ball, then you know they don’t half-way do anything. You can see the raw determination these boys have. To not only win but to make their coaches and their community proud. There is no doubt that this team gives the game of football everything they have. So watch out Hector. You’re in for a rude awakening.
Head out to Mills Field on Friday, October 12th as the Hornets host Hector with game time at 7 pm. The Hornets will also be holding a “Pink Out” during this game. They would like for everyone to wear pink and help them as they support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
