Firefighter Recognition Day

Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson has declared January 27, 2020 as “Firefighter Recognition Day.”

This according to the proclamation, to “honor the men and women who make extraordinary sacrifices while in the line of duty on behalf of the citizens of the State of Arkansas.”

Also that “since the tragic events of September 11, 2001, firefighters and police officers are no longer taken for granted…Volunteer firefighters make up the vast majority of firefighters in the state and deserve to be recognized for their willingness to faithfully provide courageous service, usually without monetary compensation…That I, Asa Hutchinson…declare January 27, 2020 Firefighter Recognition Day.”
