Boots and Chaps and Cowboy Hats…it’s Shodeo season in Lavaca!

The Lavaca Round-up Club has been busy planning a great season. Shodeo season starts tomorrow and will run through early September. The Lavaca Round-up Club would like to invite the community to come out to the Lone Pine Miller Arena at 2P for a fun afternoon with the family. A shodeo is timed events of poles, barrels, stakes, flags, keyhole and speed that the entire family can can participate in! Ages are split up for awards! The divisions are; 6 and under lead line, 7 to 9, 10 to 13, 14-18, and adults. There will be great concessions with burgers, hot dogs, chili cheese dogs, pretzels, popcorn, nachos, chili Frito pie, candy, pickles, soft drinks, and really sweet tea! This will be fun for the whole family.

If participating, there are a few things to remember:

  1. Current coggins required
  2. Must participate in 6 out of 9 shodeos to qualify for year end awards.
  3. Must ride in 3 events per shodeo for it to qualify as 1 “qualifying” shodeo
  4. Must fulfill the required amount of “works” for year end awards.
  5. Must be a paid member Single $10/ Family $20 for points to count toward year end awards.
  6. Events are $2 per event or $25 for all events for the whole family

Thank You and hope to see you there!
