The Mansfield 7th grade Lady Tigers have finished their 2018-2019 basketball season as UNDEFEATED CHAMPIONS. The girls ended with a 10-0 winning record and plan to continue that streak for years to come.
During their season, the girls took on and defeated Booneville, Lavaca, UCA, Waldron, Hackett, Paris, Cedarville twice and Charleston twice. With all of their games combined, the Lady Tigers racked up 270 points compared to their opponents 122 points. That’s an incredible feat for such a young crew.
Half of the girls on the team have been playing together since early Little League years and through that have won multiple championships. The other half of the team have brought in their own variety of skills and determination. So it comes as no surprise that the Lady Tigers have found the winning combination.
Head Coach Joshua Bryan had this to say about his girls. “I’m proud of the way the Lady Tigers have fought hard this year to earn their undefeated season. An old coach told me one time that there are two things you cannot coach. One is attitude and the other is hustle and our girls have both. We have the attitude that we are going to win and then go out and make sure we are not outworked on the basketball court. We will continue working hard to get better and to keep this flowing into next year. I have enjoyed coaching them this season along with Erica McKay and Kaylie Pyles. We could not be more proud of these young ladies! Go Tigers!”
